Biblical
Points:
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,
in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements
will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it
will be burned up. 11Therefore, since all these things will be
dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and
godliness, 12looking for and hastening the coming of the day of
God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and
the elements will melt with fervent heat?
31So
they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved,
you and your household."
Blessing
and Admonition
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely;
and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24He who calls you is
faithful, who also will do it.
24Grace
be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
17I
love those who love me,
And those who seek me
diligently will find me.
3But
if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
Stand
Fast
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you,
brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for
salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,
22"Men
of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to
you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your
midst, as you yourselves also know-- 23Him, being delivered by
the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless
hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24whom God raised up,
having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He
should be held by it. 25For David says concerning Him:
"I foresaw the LORD always
before my face,
For He is at my right hand,
that I may not be shaken.
26Therefore my heart
rejoiced, and my tongue was glad;
Moreover my flesh also will
rest in hope.
27For You will not
leave my soul in Hades,
Nor will You allow Your Holy
One to see corruption.
28You have made
known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of joy in
Your presence.
29"Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the
patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us
to this day. 30Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God
had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to
the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, 31he,
foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His
soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32This
Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33Therefore
being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the
Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now
see and hear.
34"For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says
himself:
"The LORD said to my Lord,
"Sit at My right hand,
35Till I make Your
enemies Your footstool."
36"Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly
that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and
Christ."
37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and
said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what
shall we do?"
38Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of
you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and
you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
11This
is the "stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become
the chief cornerstone. 12Nor is there salvation in any other,
for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must
be saved."
9Therefore
God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above
every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father.
8Beware
lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to
the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and
not according to Christ. 9For in Him dwells all the fullness of
the Godhead bodily; 10and you are complete in Him, who is the
head of all principality and power.
Not Legalism but Christ
11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made
without hands, by putting off the body of the sins
of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
14For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15For
you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received
the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
16The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are
children of God,
23For
the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and
He is the Savior of the body.
Unity
and Diversity in One Body
12 For as the body
is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being
many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or
free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 14For in
fact the body is not one member but many.
15If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am
not of the body," is it therefore not of the body? 16And
if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the
body," is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole
body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing,
where would be the smelling? 18But now God has set the members,
each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19And if they
were all one member, where would the body be?
20But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21And
the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor
again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you." 22No,
much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are
necessary. 23And those members of the body which we think to be
less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable
parts have greater modesty, 24but our presentable parts have no
need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part
which lacks it, 25that there should be no schism in the body,
but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26And
if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is
honored, all the members rejoice with it.
27Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
28And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second
prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings,
helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29Are all
apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?
30Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all
interpret? 31But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I
show you a more excellent way.
21far
above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name
that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head
over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the
fullness of Him who fills all in all.
18And
He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
22And
you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end
will be saved.
13But
he who endures to the end shall be saved.
7I
have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the
faith. 8Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on
that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Loving
God Under Trials
12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has
been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has
promised to those who love Him.
10Do
not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the
devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested,
and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I
will give you the crown of life.
16For
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
6We
are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear
us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Knowing God Through Love
7 Beloved, let us
love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of
God and knows God. 8He who does not love does not know God, for
God is love. 9In this the love of God was manifested toward us,
that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live
through Him. 10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that
He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved,
if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Seeing God Through Love
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God
abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13By this
we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His
Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent
the Son as Savior of the world. 15Whoever confesses that Jesus
is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16And we
have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he
who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
The Consummation of Love
17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have
boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this
world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out
fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made
perfect in love. 19We love Him because He first loved us.
Obedience by Faith
20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his
brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has
seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21And this
commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother
also.
7Do
not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will
also reap. 8For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap
corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap
everlasting life. 9And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10Therefore,
as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are
of the household of faith.
8Although
I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, "My lord, what shall be
the end of these things?"
9And he said, "Go your way, Daniel, for the words are
closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10Many shall be
purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and
none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
11"And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken
away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one
thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12Blessed is he who
waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13"But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest,
and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days."
A
Hymn of Faith
17 Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive
may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off
from the fold,
And there be no herd in the
stalls--
18Yet I will rejoice
in the LORD,
I will joy in the God of my
salvation.
19The
LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like
deer's feet,
And He will make me walk on my
high hills.
42Watch
therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43But
know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief
would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken
into. 44Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is
coming at an hour you do not expect.
Jesus
Predicts the Destruction of the Temple
Destruction of the Temple Foretold
1 Then Jesus went
out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him
the buildings of the temple. 2And Jesus said to them, "Do
you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall
be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
The Signs of the Times and the End
of the Age
3 Now as He sat on
the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,
"Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of
Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
4And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no
one deceives you. 5For many will come in My name, saying,
"I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6And you will
hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all
these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For
nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there
will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8All
these are the beginning of sorrows.
9"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill
you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10And
then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one
another. 11Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive
many. 12And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many
will grow cold. 13But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world
as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
The Great Tribulation
15 "Therefore when you see the "abomination of
desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy
place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16"then
let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let him who
is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18And
let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19But
woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those
days! 20And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on
the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great tribulation, such
as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor
ever shall be. 22And unless those days were shortened, no flesh
would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
23"Then if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the
Christ!' or "There!' do not believe it. 24For false
christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to
deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you
beforehand.
26"Therefore if they say to you, "Look, He is in the
desert!' do not go out; or "Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not
believe it. 27For as the lightning comes from the east and
flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28For
wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
The Coming of the Son of Man
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the
sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will
fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30Then
the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes
of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And He will send
His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together
His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its
branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that
summer is near. 33So you also, when you see all these things,
know that it is near--at the doors! 34Assuredly, I say to you,
this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take
place. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by
no means pass away.
No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the
angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37But as the days of Noah
were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38For as in
the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and
giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39and
did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the
coming of the Son of Man be. 40Then two men will be in the
field: one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will
be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42Watch
therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43But
know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief
would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken
into. 44Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is
coming at an hour you do not expect.
The Faithful Servant and the Evil
Servant
45 "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his
master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
46Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find
so doing. 47Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler
over all his goods. 48But if that evil servant says in his
heart, "My master is delaying his coming, 49and begins to
beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50the
master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him
and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51and will cut him in
two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be
weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The
Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
7 So they asked
Him, saying, "Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign
will there be when these things are about to take place?"
8And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For
many will come in My name, saying, "I am He,' and, "The time has
drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them. 9But when you hear
of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to
pass first, but the end will not come immediately."
10Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom. 11And there will be great
earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will
be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12But before all
these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you,
delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought
before kings and rulers for My name's sake. 13But it will turn
out for you as an occasion for testimony. 14Therefore settle it
in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15for
I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be
able to contradict or resist. 16You will be betrayed even by
parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you
to death. 17And you will be hated by all for My name's sake.
18But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19By your
patience possess your souls.
The Destruction of Jerusalem
20 "But when
you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is
near. 21Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,
let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in
the country enter her. 22For these are the days of vengeance,
that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23But woe
to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those
days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this
people. 24And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be
led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by
Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
The Coming of the Son of Man
25 "And there
will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth
distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
26men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those
things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will
be shaken. 27Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a
cloud with power and great glory. 28Now when these things begin
to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws
near."
The Parable of the Fig Tree
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: "Look at the fig tree,
and all the trees. 30When they are already budding, you see and
know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31So you also,
when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
32Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass
away till all things take place. 33Heaven and earth will pass
away, but My words will by no means pass away.
The Importance of Watching
34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be
weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that
Day come on you unexpectedly. 35For it will come as a snare on
all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch
therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all
these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of
Man."
10and
to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus
who delivers us from the wrath to come.
19For
what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the
presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
8 I
am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which
is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
1 But
of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto
you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day
of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety;
then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with
child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that
that day should overtake you as a thief.
15 Behold,
I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments,
lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Thessalonians
4:13-18
13But
I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14For
if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which
sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15For
this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are
asleep.
16For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of
the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall
rise first:
17Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the
Lord.
18Wherefore
comfort one another with these words.
1
Timothy 6:13-16
13I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and
before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good
confession;
14That
thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing
of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15Which
in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16Who
only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach
unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power
everlasting. Amen.
32 Fear
not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the
kingdom.
13 Enter
ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that
leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is
the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
16 So
the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few
chosen.
1 And
I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first
earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her
husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven
saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with
them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their
eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed
away.
16 And,
behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I
do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me
good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter
into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou
shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these
things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be
perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt
have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying,
he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily
I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of
heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for
a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter
into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were
exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 Then answered Peter and said unto him,
Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have
therefore?
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto
you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of
man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve
thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or
brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or
lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit
everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last; and
the last shall be first.
17 And
when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled
to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit
eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou
me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not
commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness,
Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master,
all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and
said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou
hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went
away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith
unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the
kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his
words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard
is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the
eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measure,
saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men
it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we
have left all, and have followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say
unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters,
or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the
gospel's,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in
this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children,
and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and
the last first.
15 That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
39 Search
the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are
they which testify of me.
27 My
sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they
shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
23 And
not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the
Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the
adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is
seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do
we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our
infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the
Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be
uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth
what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the
saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
his purpose.
12 Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also
called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
10 But
the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ
Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish,
strengthen, settle you.
25 And
this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
11And
this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this
life is in his Son. 12So whoever has God's Son has life;
whoever does not have his Son does not have life.
Conclusion
13I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that
you may know you have eternal life. 14And we can be confident
that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with
his will. 15And if we know he is listening when we make our
requests, we can be sure that he will give us what we ask for.
16If you see a Christian brother or sister sinning in a way
that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that
person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying
you should pray for those who commit it. 17Every wrong is sin,
but not all sin leads to death.
18We know that those who have become part of God's family do
not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the
evil one cannot get his hands on them. 19We know that we are
children of God and that the world around us is under the power and
control of the evil one. 20And we know that the Son of God has
come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God.
And now we are in God because we are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the
only true God, and he is eternal life.
21Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's
place in your hearts.
13while
we look forward to that wonderful event when the glory of our great God
and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

Thessalonians 4.13-18
13 But
I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the
Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall
not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these
words.

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema
Maranatha.
