24
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by
this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
16
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is
love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear,
but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,
Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit
that we are children of God,
23
and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of
mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24 even us
whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
25 As He says also in Hosea:
“ I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
26 “ And it shall come
to pass in the place where it was said to them,
‘ You are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”
3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed
us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5
having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself,
according to the good pleasure of His will,
11
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according
to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of
His will,
29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image
of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom
He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also
glorified.
31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us?
13
But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved
by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation
through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14
to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
2
elect according to the
foreknowledge of God the
Father, in
sanctification of the
Spirit, for obedience
and sprinkling of the
blood of Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace
be multiplied.
166 LORD, I hope for Your
salvation,
And I do Your commandments.
30 As
for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the LORD is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
3
Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;
Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
24 Be
of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD.
10
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
9 For evildoers shall be
cut off;
But those who wait on the LORD,
They shall inherit the earth.
22
Do not say, “I will
recompense evil”;
Wait for the LORD,
and He will save you.
9
And it will be said in that day:
“ Behold, this is our God;
We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the LORD;
We have waited for Him;
We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
25
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one
should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the LORD.
18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy
to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for
the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was
subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected
it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be
delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of
the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation
groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not
only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we
ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the
redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope,
but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what
he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly
wait for it with perseverance.
11
Therefore, since all
these things will be
dissolved, what manner
of persons ought
you to be in holy
conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and
hastening the coming of
the day of God, because
of which the heavens
will be dissolved, being
on fire, and the
elements will melt with
fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we,
according to His promise,
look for new heavens and
a new earth in which
righteousness dwells.
14 If a man dies, shall
he live again?
All the days of my hard service I will wait,
Till my change comes.
1
The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of
the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of
bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and
behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were
very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones
live?”
So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”
4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to
them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 Thus says
the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into
you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring
flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall
live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.”’”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied,
there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together,
bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh
came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath
in them.
9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son
of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the
four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’”
10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into
them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great
army.
11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole
house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost,
and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say
to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your
graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the
land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the LORD,
when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from
your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall
live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I,
the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’”
19
Your dead shall live;
Together with my dead body they shall arise.
Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust;
For your dew is like the dew of herbs,
And the earth shall cast out the dead.
37
But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are
raised, when he called the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac,
and the God of Jacob.’ 38 For He is not the God of the dead
but of the living, for all live to Him.”
19
“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will
see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
24
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him
who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but
has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to
you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice
of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as
the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life
in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute
judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel
at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will
hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to
the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the
resurrection of condemnation.
51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of
this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My
flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
57
As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he
who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread
which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are
dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”
63
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words
that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
68
But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the
words of eternal life.
4
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just
as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so
we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His
death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the
body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves
of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no
more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
13
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who
have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring
with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we
who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means
precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and
with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus
we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one
another with these words.
27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall
anyone snatch them out of My hand.
48
Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word
of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.
7
eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for
glory, honor, and immortality;
22
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God,
you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
25
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes
in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives
and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
5
He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot
out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before
My Father and before His angels.
7
But the heavens and the
earth which are
now preserved by the
same word, are reserved
for fire until the day
of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
13
Nevertheless we,
according to His promise,
look for new heavens and
a new earth in which
righteousness dwells.
1 Now
I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first
earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I,
John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from
God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I
heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is
with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God
Himself will be with them and be their God. 4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no
more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the
former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all
things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and
faithful.”
17
“ For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
22
“ For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the LORD,
“ So shall your descendants and your name remain.
21
Also your people shall all be righteous;
They shall inherit the land forever,
The branch of My planting,
The work of My hands,
That I may be glorified.
5
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having
seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed
that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14
For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.
15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from
which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country.
Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared
a city for them.
17
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither
sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and
will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come
to you.
23
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My
word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our
home with him.
9
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of
God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he
is not His.
16
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of
God dwells in you?
16
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the
temple of the living God. As God has said:
“ I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”
17
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being
rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend
with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may
be filled with all the fullness of God.
2
“ But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.
3
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him
privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be
the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
27
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so
also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
19
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you
in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
13
so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our
God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His
saints.
15
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive
and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those
who are asleep.
8
You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord
is at hand.
1 Now,
brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our
gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon
shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as
if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no
one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the
falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of
perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is
called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of
God, showing himself that he is God.
8
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me
only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
12
looking for and
hastening the coming of
the day of God, because
of which the heavens
will be dissolved, being
on fire, and the
elements will melt with
fervent heat?
42
Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
26
Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power
and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather
together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth
to the farthest part of heaven.
10
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold,
two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said,
“Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same
Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like
manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
22
If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O
Lord, come!
2
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a
thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!”
then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant
woman. And they shall not escape.
20
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
3
knowing this first: that
scoffers will come in
the last days, walking
according to their own
lusts,
4 and saying,
“Where is the promise of
His coming? For since
the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue as
they were from
the beginning of
creation.”
5 For this they
willfully forget: that
by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and
the earth standing out
of water and in the
water,
6 by which the
world that then
existed perished, being
flooded with water.
7 But the heavens
and the earth which
are now preserved by the
same word, are reserved
for fire until the day
of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
14
that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord
Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His
own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings
and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in
unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor
and everlasting power. Amen.
13
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and
Savior Jesus Christ,
7
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they
who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of
Him. Even so, Amen.
3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.
51
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all
be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at
the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be
raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on
incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be
brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in
victory.”
20
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for
the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our
lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to
the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah
1 The
LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
155 Salvation is far from
the wicked,
For they do not seek Your statutes.
39 But the salvation of
the righteous is from the LORD;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.
17
But Israel shall be saved by the LORD
With an everlasting salvation;
You shall not be ashamed or disgraced
Forever and ever.
12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
3
how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the
first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those
who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and
wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according
to His own will?
1
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven,
saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the
Lord our God!
25
To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.
21 You shall be hidden
from the scourge of the tongue,
And you shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes.
22
Now therefore, do not be mockers,
Lest your bonds be made strong;
For I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts,
A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.
40
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah
And their neighbors,” says the LORD,
“ So no one shall reside there,
Nor son of man dwell in it.
24
Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the
LORD out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all
the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the
ground.
23
And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the LORD sent thunder
and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the LORD rained hail on the
land of Egypt. 24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with
the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of
Egypt since it became a nation.
13
Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts
That the peoples labor to feed the fire,
And nations weary themselves in vain?
25
Destruction comes;
They will seek peace, but there shall be none.
8 “
Therefore wait for Me,” says the LORD,
“ Until the day I rise up for plunder;
My determination is to gather the nations
To My assembly of kingdoms,
To pour on them My indignation,
All My fierce anger;
All the earth shall be devoured
With the fire of My jealousy.
10
But the day of the Lord
will come as a thief in
the night, in which the
heavens will pass away
with a great noise, and
the elements will melt
with fervent heat; both
the earth and the works
that are in it will be
burned up.
11 Therefore,
since all these things
will be dissolved, what
manner of persons
ought you to be in holy
conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and
hastening the coming of
the day of God, because
of which the heavens
will be dissolved, being
on fire, and the
elements will melt with
fervent heat?
41
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you
cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass
away.
9 For
evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the LORD,
They shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the
truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a
certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which
will devour the adversaries.
20
The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard,
And shall totter like a hut;
Its transgression shall be heavy upon it,
And it will fall, and not rise again.
21 It shall come to pass
in that day
That the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones,
And on the earth the kings of the earth.
3
The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered,
For the LORD has spoken this word.
4 The earth mourns and
fades away,
The world languishes and fades away;
The haughty people of the earth languish.
5 The earth is also
defiled under its inhabitants,
Because they have transgressed the laws,
Changed the ordinance,
Broken the everlasting covenant.
6 Therefore the curse
has devoured the earth,
And those who dwell in it are desolate.
Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned,
And few men are left.
22
What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known,
endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for
destruction, 23 and that He might make known the riches of
His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for
glory, 24 even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but
also of the Gentiles?
1 But
concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I
should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that
the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For
when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon
them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day
should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light
and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
20 The LORD preserves all
who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
11 Revive me, O LORD, for
Your name’s sake!
For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies,
And destroy all those who afflict my soul;
For I am Your servant.
8 Early I will destroy
all the wicked of the land,
That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.
6
since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those
who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with
us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God,
and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9
These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence
of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
41
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His
kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be
wailing and gnashing of teeth.
11 For He repays man
according to his work,
And makes man to find a reward according to his way.
3 Do
not take me away with the wicked
And with the workers of iniquity,
Who speak peace to their neighbors,
But evil is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds,
And according to the wickedness of their endeavors;
Give them according to the work of their hands;
Render to them what they deserve.
5 Because they do not regard the works of the LORD,
Nor the operation of His hands,
He shall destroy them
And not build them up.
16
The labor of the righteous leads to life,
The wages of the wicked to sin.
18
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that
the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than
light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone
practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his
deeds should be exposed.
8
but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and
anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also
of the Greek;
19
Now the works of the
flesh are evident, which
are: adultery,
fornication, uncleanness,
lewdness,
20 idolatry,
sorcery, hatred,
contentions, jealousies,
outbursts of wrath,
selfish ambitions,
dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries,
and the like; of which I
tell you beforehand,
just as I also told
you in time past,
that those who practice
such things will not
inherit the kingdom of
God.
10
And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every
tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the
fire.
40
Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will
be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out
His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that
offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast
them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of
teeth.
28
Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they
bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the
day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when
the Son of Man is revealed.
7
as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to
these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after
strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of
eternal fire.
9
They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the
saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven
and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast
into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false
prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face
the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for
them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before
God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the
Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the
things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up
the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who
were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This
is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the
Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake
which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
2 Give
unto the LORD the glory due to His name;
Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
5 Your
testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O LORD, forever.
8
A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
15
For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“ I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
67
Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and
prophesied, saying:
68 “ Blessed is the Lord
God of Israel,
For He has visited and redeemed His people,
69 And has raised up a
horn of salvation for us
In the house of His servant David,
70 As He spoke by the
mouth of His holy prophets,
Who have been since the world began,
71 That we should be
saved from our enemies
And from the hand of all who hate us,
72 To perform the mercy
promised to our fathers
And to remember His holy covenant,
73 The oath which He
swore to our father Abraham:
74 To grant us that we,
Being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
Might serve Him without fear,
75 In holiness and
righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved,
let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
22
that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which
grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be
renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on
the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness
and holiness.
12
And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and
to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish
your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
10
For they indeed for a
few days chastened us
as seemed best to
them, but He for our
profit, that we
may be partakers of His
holiness.
19
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just
as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of
lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as
slaves of righteousness for holiness.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard
to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the
things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is
death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having
become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end,
everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1
Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you
should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought
to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments
we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you
should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you
should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
2
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in
Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on
the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
22
Abstain from every form of evil.
23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also
will do it.
11
Therefore, since all
these things will be
dissolved, what manner
of persons ought
you to be in holy
conduct and godliness,
11
He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be
filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is
holy, let him be holy still.”
13
and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man,
clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with
a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as
white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15
His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice
as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand
seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His
countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
17
If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the
temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
5 “Gather My saints
together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
9 Oh, fear the LORD, you
His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
15
Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from
goodwill: 16 The former preach Christ from selfish ambition,
not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; 17
but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense
of the gospel. 18 What then? Only that in every way, whether
in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes,
and will rejoice.
9 For
there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is destruction;
Their throat is an open tomb;
They flatter with their tongue.
10 Pronounce them guilty, O God!
Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
For they have rebelled against You.
33
Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?
17
For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of
sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.
2
But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in
craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by
manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s
conscience in the sight of God.
5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.
Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed
you are disqualified.
20
As the nations which the LORD destroys before you, so you shall perish,
because you would not be obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.
5
Because they do not regard the works of the LORD,
Nor the operation of His hands,
He shall destroy them
And not build them up.
33
Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
14
not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from
the truth.
1
Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have
heard, lest we drift away.
17
So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said,
“Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the
plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”
12
For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we
conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not
with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward
you.
6 Blessed be the LORD,
Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the
fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
5
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
25
I applied my heart to know,
To search and seek out wisdom and the reason of things,
To know the wickedness of folly,
Even of foolishness and madness.
26 And I find more
bitter than death
The woman whose heart is snares and nets,
Whose hands are fetters.
He who pleases God shall escape from her,
But the sinner shall be trapped by her.
7
“Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.”
24
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to
teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in
opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may
know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and
escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do
his will.
36
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to
escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the
Son of Man.”
6
Flee from the midst of Babylon,
And every one save his life!
Do not be cut off in her iniquity,
For this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance;
He shall recompense her.
14
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
14
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried
about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the
cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking
the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the
head—Christ—
3
how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the
first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those
who heard Him,
19
And so we have the
prophetic word confirmed,
which you do well to
heed as a light that
shines in a dark place,
until the day dawns and
the morning star rises
in your hearts;
1 But
know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal,
despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of
pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of
godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
1 Now
the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the
faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2
speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a
hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain
from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those
who believe and know the truth.
3
knowing this first: that
scoffers will come in
the last days, walking
according to their own
lusts,
4 and saying,
“Where is the promise of
His coming? For since
the fathers fell asleep,
all things continue as
they were from
the beginning of
creation.”
18
Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the
Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we
know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but
they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have
continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest,
that none of them were of us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know
all things.
19
The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.
11
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
4
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake
you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the
day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let
us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 7
For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk
at night. 8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting
on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of
salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to
obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
11
And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have
no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever
receives the mark of his name.”
14
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship
has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with
darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what
part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement
has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living
God. As God has said:
“ I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore
“ Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 “ I will be a Father
to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the LORD Almighty.”
19
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of
the wicked one.
Ephesians 2:1-2
1 And you He made
alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked
according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the
power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
James 4:4
4 Adulterers and
adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity
with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes
himself an enemy of God.
1 John 2:15-17
15 Do not love the
world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of
the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the
Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the
lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Romans 13:11-14
11 And do this,
knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for
now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is
far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of
darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly,
as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust,
not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no
provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
Daniel 12:4
4 “But you,
Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end;
many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
1 Timothy 6:20-21
20 O Timothy!
Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle
babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by
professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.
Grace be with you.
Amen.
1 Corinthians 1:4-5
4 I thank my God
always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by
Christ Jesus, 5 that you
1 Corinthians 3:18-20
18 Let no one
deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let
him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this
world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise
in their own craftiness”; 20 and again, “The LORD knows the thoughts of
the wise, that they are futile.”
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 “ For My
thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4
3 But even if our
gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds
the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of
the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine
on them.
2 Thessalonians 2:8-12
8 And then the
lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath
of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming
of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power,
signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among
those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth,
that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them
strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may
be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.
Psalm 55:23
23 But You, O
God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction;
Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days;
But I will trust in You.
Matthew 7:13
13 “Enter by the
narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to
destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10
7 and to give you
who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from
heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on
those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His
power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and
to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among
you was believed.
Psalm 97:11
11 Light is sown
for the righteous,
And gladness for the upright in heart.
Psalm 112:4
4 Unto the
upright there arises light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the
light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand,
and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so
shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven.
John 1:5
5 And the light
shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 8:12
12 Then Jesus
spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who
follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 12:46
46 I have come as
a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in
darkness.
9
But you are a
chosen generation, a
royal priesthood, a holy
nation, His own special
people, that you may
proclaim the praises of
Him who called you out
of darkness into His
marvelous light;
1 Thessalonians 5:5
5 You are all sons
of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
1 John 1:5-7
5 This is the
message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is
light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have
fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice
the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son
cleanses us from all sin.
Daniel 12:3
3 Those who are
wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
Matthew 13:43
43
Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their
Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Philippians 2:15
15
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without
fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you
shine as lights in the world,
Psalm 42:5
5 Why
are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.
Psalm 62:1-2
1
Truly my soul silently waits for God;
From Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalm 149:4
4 For
the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation.
Isaiah 61:10
10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD,
My soul shall be joyful in my God;
For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Lamentations 3:26
26
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the LORD.
Revelation 19:1-9
1
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven,
saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the
Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments,
because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her
fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by
her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up
forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four
living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne,
saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5 Then a voice came from the
throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear
Him, both small and great!”
6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as
the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying,
“Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be
glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has
come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it
was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine
linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are
called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These
are the true sayings of God.”
Hebrews 3:12-15
12
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief
in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another
daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through
the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of
Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
15 while it is said:
“ Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Hebrews 4:4-11
4
For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way:
“And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;
5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and
those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of
disobedience, 7 again He designates a certain day, saying in
David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:
“ Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not
afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains
therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has
entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from
His.
11
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall
according to the same example of disobedience.
2 Corinthians 6:1-2
1
We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive
the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says:
“ In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is
the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Romans 8:35-39
35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written:
“ For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither
death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things
present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any
other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Job 32:13
13
Lest you say,
‘We have found wisdom’;
God will vanquish him, not man.
Jeremiah 1:19
19
They will fight against you,
But they shall not prevail against you.
For I am with you,” says the LORD, “to deliver you.”
John 16:33
33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the
world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome
the world.”
Romans 12:21
21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 John 4:4
4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who
is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
1 John 5:4
4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory
that has overcome the world—our faith.
Revelation 5:5
5
But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the
tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and
to loose its seven seals.”
Revelation 6:2
2
And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and
a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
Revelation 2:7
7
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is
in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’
Revelation 2:11
11
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.”’
Revelation 3:12
12
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and
he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the
name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of
heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

called, chosen, and faithful.”

shall be My son.

3
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy,
and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Revelation 22:12
12
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to
every one according to his work.
Matthew 7:13-14
13
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way
that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which
leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 5:20
20
For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the
righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter
the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 7:21
21
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
John 3:5-7
5
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of
water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You
must be born again.’
Revelation 22:14
14
Blessed are those who do His Commandments, that they may have the right
to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Luke 12:32
32
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to
give you the kingdom.
1
The elders who are among
you I exhort, I who am a
fellow elder and a
witness of the
sufferings of Christ,
and also a partaker of
the glory that will be
revealed:
2 Shepherd the
flock of God which is
among you, serving as
overseers, not by
compulsion but willingly,
not for dishonest gain
but eagerly;
3 nor as being
lords over those
entrusted to you, but
being examples to the
flock;
4 and when the
Chief Shepherd appears,
you will receive the
crown of glory that does
not fade away.
5 Likewise you
younger people, submit
yourselves to your
elders. Yes, all of
you be submissive to
one another, and be
clothed with humility,
for
“ God resists
the proud,
But
gives
grace to the humble.”
6
Therefore humble
yourselves under the
mighty hand of God, that
He may exalt you in due
time,
7 casting all your
care upon Him, for He
cares for you.
Joshua 24:17
17
for the LORD our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the
land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in
our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all
the people through whom we passed.
9
He will guard the feet
of His saints,
But the wicked
shall be silent in
darkness.
“For by strength
no man shall prevail.
Psalm 44:7
7 But
You have saved us from our enemies,
And have put to shame those who hated us.
Psalm 97:10
10 You
who love the LORD, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
Isaiah 26:3
3
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
John 17:15-17
15
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You
should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the
world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by
Your truth. Your word is truth.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:18
18
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been
born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
Jude 1:24-25
24
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
25 To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.
Psalm 40:17
17 But
I am poor and needy;
Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.
Psalm 60:11-12
11
Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
12 Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.
Acts 20:24
24
But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself,
so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received
from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the
faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on
that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His
appearing.
Hebrews 12:1
1
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily
ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before
us,
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
24
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives
the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25
And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now
they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable
crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I
fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my
body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others,
I myself should become disqualified.
Philippians 3:12-15
12
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press
on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid
hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are
behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in
Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind;
and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to
you.
2 John 1:8
8
Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but
that we may receive a full reward.
2 Peter 3:14
14
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be
found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;
Hebrews 12:14
14
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will
see the Lord:
